Salute to Music
The Salute to Music Manhattan Borough-wide Band is an exciting band program open to
any NYC DOE middle school student. It's free and super fun.
AUDITIONS FOR 2018-19:
Saturday, October 20th
from 9:00-12:00pm at Manhattan East School (410 East 100th Street)
Our concert is confirmed for Carnegie Hall in June 2019!
June 4th 2019!!

Below is the information regarding the NYC DOE Salute to Music program.
Salute to Music provides an opportunity for middle school students to receive instrumental and choral music instruction along with other students from their boroughs, culminating in concerts in the spring. Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island sites have orchestral and concert band ensembles. Bronx and Manhattan sites each have concert band ensembles. A City-wide Salute to Music chorus was established in 2012 and rehearses in Manhattan at NEST+m. This program is open to students in grades 6, 7, and 8, from all five boroughs who are currently enrolled in a New York City Department of Education public school. New in 2013, a City-wide Jazz ensemble that rehearses in Brooklyn. All ensembles meet on Saturday mornings when school is in session, from 8:45 am to 11:45 am. Each ensemble is staffed by licensed NYCDOE music teachers.
