Welcome Advanced Band Students!!
FIRST REHEARSAL FOR SPRING 2019: THURSDAY, 2/7
This group is open to all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students who want to perform more music than we can offer in the traditional music program here at NEST+m. We are playing NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) level two music and we compete every June at NYU at the NYSSMA festival.
Last June, the Advanced Band won a gold medal! Our first for advanced band in four years!
Do you want to be a part of this group? Stop by a rehearsal and see if it is for you. We practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the second half of period six (12:40-1:00pm). Yes, it's half of the lunch period - don't worry, you'll still eat - but it's packed with music making. It's a great time.
New students should see Pieter. Returning students, please print out the music and listen to the audio recordings.
*Sixth grade students are welcome in the fall semester but should have previous playing experience since we play more challenging music. See Pieter if interested.
